Effective July 1, 2008, Medco became Shelby County’s prescription drug provider for employees enrolled in the CIGNA OAPIN (HMO) and the CIGNA OAP (PPO) medical programs.
The OAPIN (HMO) option does not have an annual prescription drug deductible. It requires a copayment when you have your prescription filled, either at a retail pharmacy or by mail order.
Retail (30-day supply): Generic: $10 Formulary Brand: $25 with generic buy-up Non-Formulary Brand: $55 Mail Order (90-day supply): Generic: $20 Formulary Brand: $50 Non-Formulary Brand: $110 Specialty Drugs: Mandatory Mail Order. $50 for 30-day supply
Employees who select the CIGNA OAP (PPO) health plan must meet an annual prescription drug deductible. This deductible is separate from the PPO deductible for healthcare. Once the prescription deductible is satisfied, employees will pay a percentage of the cost of prescriptions filled at a retail pharmacy and a copay for prescriptions filled through mail order.

CIGNA Healthcare is the pharmacy manager for employees enrolling in the CIGNA Choice Fund HRA. Prescriptions are subject to the annual combined medical/pharmacy deductible. Employees pay a percentage of the cost of prescriptions filled at a retail pharmacy and a copay for prescriptions filled through the mail order program (CIGNA Tel-Drug).
