MONTHLY AIR POLLUTION PUBLIC NOTICES
Title V Permitting Actions Monthly Permitting Actions Company Published Permitting Actions Air/Water Board Meeting Announcements
Kruger Tissue Group (K.T.G.) (USA) LP has applied to the Memphis and Shelby County Health Department (MSCHD), Pollution Control Section, for a major source operating permit renewal subject to the provisions of City of Memphis Code 16-77 [Reference Rules and Regulations of Tennessee, Rule 1200-3-9-.02 (11)] (frequently referred to as the Title V regulations). A Title V operating permit is required by the Federal Clean Air Act and the City of Memphis Code. This K.T.G. (USA) LP facility is located at 400 Mahannah Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee. Operations at this facility consist primarily of tissue-making process.
A copy of the application materials used by the Department and a copy of the draft revised applicable permit sections are available for public inspection at the Pollution Control Section office during normal business hours (8:00 am - 4:30 pm). Interested parties are invited to review these materials and provied written comments. In addition, a public hearing may be requested at which written or oral presentations may be made. To be considered, written comments or requests for a public hearing must be made within thirty (30) days after the date of this notice and should be addressed to:

Southern Cotton Oil Company has applied to the Memphis and Shelby County Health Department (MSCHD), Pollution Control Section, for a major source operating permit major modification subject to the provisions of City of Memphis Code 16-77 [Reference Rules and Regulations of Tennessee, Rule 1200-3-9-.02 (11)] (frequently referred to as the Title V regulations). A Title V operating permit is required by the Federal Clean Air Act and the City of Memphis Code. The modifications involve incorporation of Federal Consent Decree requirements into the permit and corrections to particualte matter emission rates within the permit. This Southern Cotton Oil Company facility is located at 2782 Chelsea Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee. Operations at this facility consist primarily of cottonseed handling, processing, oil extraction and refining.

Osmose, Inc. 3450 Fite Road, Millington Requesting a permit to add a process to manufacture an ammoniacal copper quaternary (ACQ) wood preservative.

The Memphis and Shelby County Air Pollution Control Board will hold a meeting in the Renaissance Center at 555 Beale Street, Memphis, Tn on Thursday, December 3, 2009, at 1:00 pm.
Agenda items will include:

The recognition of new Air Pollution Control Board "Board" members, the reaapointment of certain Board members, and the appreciation of service of those Board members who are being replaced.

The annual Board ethics training.

The annual review of the Title V air pollution emission and permit fees for recommendation to the Shelby County Commission.

A general update on the air quality in Shelby County.

Other matters the Board deems necessary for the operation of the Air Pollution Control Program under the air pollution codes.
