The Shelby County Weatherization Assistance Program is administered by the Community Services Agency (CSA) under the Division of Community Services and is designed to make homes more energy-efficient, thereby reducing air infiltration. The end result is to reduce the cost of utility bills for low-income residents in the City of Memphis and Shelby County. It is funded through a federal grant by way of the U.S. Department of Energy
Program Guidelines & Eligibility
Eligibility is based on an income scale of 200% of the poverty level. Memphis and Shelby County homeowners and renters who meet the eligibility guidelines can receive these services. Renters must have permission from their landlord and homeowners must provide proof of ownership.
A pre-audit to determine necessary energy measures and a post audit of the completed measures are required. The measures are performed by a certified list of contractors.
