Members of the 12-person Community Advisory Board serve two year-terms. Board membership is comprised of:
  • Four representatives of public bodies
  • Four representatives of the poor
  • Four representatives of private community organizations
Note: All members must be approved by the Shelby County Commission.

Functions & Authority

The Shelby County Community Advisory Board was created to oversee the quality and extent of the participation of the poor in the programs of the Department of the Community Services Agency; recommend program plans and priorities to the Executive Director of the Community Services Agency program and coordinate all activities with the Executive Director.
