AFLAC provides group critical illness and hospital indemnity insurance to Shelby County employees. Your department Human Resource representative will coordinate with AFLAC to come on-site for employees who wish to enroll or make changes to their coverage. Please contact your Human Resources representative for assistance or a local AFLAC representative.

Shelby County's Flexible Benefit Plan allows employee's contributions to be paid with pre-tax earnings/dollars. Therefore, an employee must remain in the AFLAC program from January 1st through December 31st annually, unless there is a qualifying event/lifestyle change in accordance with IRS guidelines.
