Providing Alternative Opportunities
The Community Services Unit offers an alternative to incarceration for clients who are unable to pay their fines and/or fees due to indigence, or for those where a sentence of incarceration is inappropriate. This Unit schedules and monitors the community services activities for clients who are on probation, going to court for misdemeanor charges and/or general citizens seeking to give back to the community through community services.
Community Services maintains a partnership with numerous non-profits and government agencies where clients are able to perform their community services requirements. To ensure an effective and efficient operation that meets the needs of both the client and the site provider, Community Services Staff follow a strict scheduling guideline determined by the provider, monitors clients for completion status and provides written reports directly to the courts regarding client completion status, i.e. successful, unsuccessful and/or amount of hours remaining to complete.
