Interim Judge Application
VACANCY NOTICE AND APPOINTMENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR GENERAL SESSIONS CIVIL COURT DIVISION 3
Pursuant to Article VII, Section 2 of the Tennessee Constitution and Sections 49-2-201(a)(1) and 49-2-202(e)(1) of the Tennessee Code, the Shelby County Board of Commissioners is now accepting applications to the appoint an Interim Judge on Monday, July 26, 2021, at 3:00 P.M. in the Shelby County Commission Chambers, Lobby of the Vasco A. Smith, Jr. County Administration Building, 160 N. Main, Memphis, Tennessee, for the purpose of appointing the Interim Judge for General Sessions Court, Division 3. to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of the Honorable John A. Donald. This interim term expires upon the election and qualification of a successor in the general election scheduled for August 4, 2022.
An application and background check are required of all applicants seeking this office. Any citizen interested in applying for an interim position for General Sessions Court, Division 3. Applications must be submitted online or in person in the Shelby County Board of Commissioners office located in the Vasco Smith Administration Building, 160 N. Main Street, Suite 600, Memphis, Tennessee 38103. The deadline for ALL applications (online or delivered in person) is Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at 4:30 PM.
