The Mental Health Advocacy program assists persons with mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and substance abuse disorders who are facing criminal charges. The Mental Health Services Coordinator assists persons by providing court officials with information that helps them get released from incarceration before being adjudicated. As part of their release, the person must agree to bail conditions which may include intensive supervision and service needs assessments. The Mental Health Services Coordinator can also provide referrals and other supportive services while the person awaits the outcome of pending charges.
