National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims
September 25th is the National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims. Congress designated this day in 2007 to provide our country a chance to honor the memories of murder victims who were lost to senseless acts of violence.
As we continue to learn how to cope with the Covid-19 pandemic and practice social distancing, we are also aware that grief, hurt, and loss remain prevalent in our community. CVRCC’s Homicide Response Program wanted to bring awareness to the community by honoring lives lost to murder in Memphis and Shelby County. On September 25th, we unveiled a virtual memorial video on multiple social media platforms to be viewed by family, friends, and members of the community. The video featured the names of those murdered in 2020 & 2021 (through mid-September).
For those who have been impacted by the murder of a loved one, help, healing, and hope is here for you at the CVRCC. We provide individual and group counseling, court accompaniment, assistance with filing for Criminal Injuries Compensation fund, and much more. Call us at 901-222-3950.
