MAYOR LEE HARRIS NAMES INTERIM PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER

MEMPHIS, TN – Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris has named Courtney Tipper as Interim Public Information Officer. Tipper is now the primary point of contact for the news media.

“Courtney’s background in public health and experience in County government make her a unique asset during this time,” says Mayor Harris.

Tipper is a public health professional who previously served as the Shelby County Health Department’s Strategic Affairs Coordinator. In her role, she was the project leader for the county’s Healthy Shelby Initiative, a countywide health improvement collaborative that includes top leaders from all of the county’s major hospitals.

“I’m honored to have an opportunity to pair my passion for public health and public service in such a critical time for our county,” says Ms. Tipper.

Tipper replaces veteran reporter Lauren Lee who recently accepted a role with one of the county’s top employers, FedEx. The appointment is effective immediately.
