To defeat COVID-19 in our community, it will require all of us to do our part to help our neighbor. That’s why the Shelby County Mayor’s Office has created the COVID-19 Community Council, a diverse body of volunteers who will ensure that the public’s perspective is a central part of decision making by local leaders. Members of the Shelby County Mayor’s COVID-19 Community Council will provide recommendations for how to best serve and support our residents as local governments and public health professionals respond to COVID-19. Additionally, these individuals will serve as informed COVID-19 ambassadors by providing their network with the most relevant and accurate information about COVID-19, how to stay safe, and how to access available resources. Finally, they will serve as the County’s volunteer recruiters, enabling the Shelby County Health Department to secure non-medical volunteers to support all aspects of the local COVID-19 response.
All applications will be reviewed to ensure diverse representation. Applications will close on April 15 and selected members will be notified on or before April 26. Please do not call about your application status.

Must attend 2 meetings per month (virtual until further notice)
